Consultant in Sport and Exercise Medicine .

Dr Jaques has been working Sports Medicine for the last 22 years and is  Director of Medical services at the English Institute of Sport (EIS) which provides medical and science services elite lottery funded athletes for both the summer and winter Great Britain Team . He is based in the EIS South West Region at Bath University.

He is a Fellow of the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine and will take over as President in October 2012.

He has attended more Olympic games in a clinical capacity than any other doctor in the UK. His first games was in Atlanta, followed by Sydney, Athens and Beijing. He is currently involved in the 2012 Olympic games in an advisory capacity and is looking forward to working with the GB team  in the Olympic village next year. He also attended the Kuala Lumpur and Manchester Commonwealth Games with the England Team. From 1989-2004 he was Medical Advisor to the British Triathlon Association. 

Rod was appointed to the British Olympic Medical Centre, London in 1998 – 2001 and joined the EIS in 2003. He also works in private practice at the Gloucestershire Sports Injury Clinic at the Winfield Hospital in Gloucester.
